The summer festival season is coming to an end. It's nearly the #endofsummer. What style lessons can we learn from time spent on the beach, on a mountain, in a field or in an urban park? Our instagram feeds have been filled with the stylish and beautiful enjoying their times of rest and relaxation. All have perfect accompanying hashtags. Anna Dello Russo (Vogue Italia & Vogue Japan), Dan & Dean Caten (DSquared2), Riccardo Tisci (Givenchy) and Brian Atwood spent time in Puglia, Italy, #itspugliababy15 they teased. Olivier Rousteing (Balmain) visited Mykonos and kept repeating his mantra #Mykonos #greeksummer #becauseimworthit #islandoflovers. Caroline Issa (Tank Magazine) visited Postiano and got giddy with the heat. Bryanboy visited London, New York, Ibiza, Sweden and Croatia. Rightly so, he declared it the #BESTSUMMEREVER.
By necessity, we all have to pack the sunglasses, the smartphone, the waterproofs, the swimming shorts and the sun cream (as relevant). These can all be quite ubiquitous items. With limited space for clothes and accessories and unpredictable weather, the festival scene can seem hard to navigate and endure. However, we should aim to stay distinct. Less is more and functionality should take the lead. Let your accessories do the work for you. Will it be that sublime leather bag from the Paris flea market? The vintage watch? The jewellery inherited from your grandfather? These additions can help you to stay connected as you relax, reflect or simply riot. There is no better time to reveal your style. You are at a festival. You are on holiday.
So, whether it is Cannes, Coachella, Glastonbury, Edinburgh, Ultra Europe Croatia, Reading, Leeds, Notting Hill Carnival, Ibiza, Miami. Stay special, say it with your unique accessories.
