The British Fashion Council's British Fashion Awards 2015 was held at English National Opera's elegant home, the London Coliseum. It was awash with Swarovski crystals, Ciroc Vodka and wall to wall style-types. J W Anderson swung both ways and won Menswear and Womenswear Designer of the Year. We now know that he had an unrequited thing for Orlando Bloom. Karl Lagerfeld was honoured for his Outstanding Achievement by his BFF Anna Wintour (nice speech BTW, so too by Naomi Campbell and  FKA Twigs). We learnt that Karl reads much much much more than you. Other highlights included the Best Model Award for Jourdan Dunn. Olivier Rousteing honoured her. Lucky Blue Smith and Lady Gaga appeared to honour Tom Ford, recipient of the Red Carpet Award.

Burberry won best campaign. There are whispers that Christopher Bailey should get a knighthood from Grandma Liz. We could then call him Sir. Though, no surprise, many already do. Patsy and Eddy of Ab Fab made a well received riotous appearance. Alison Moyet sang and killed us all, very softly. Emerging Menswear Designer Winner was Grace Wales Bonner. Her LCM show just got very crowded. We should all develop a crush on Gucci's Alessandro Michele. Alexa Chung looked delicious. Molly King accidentally showed her pum pum (kind of). Jack Whitehall was funny. The visuals were stunning.

Olivier Rousteing, Creative Director of Balmain Paris is getting more than a few things right. His early childhood could have ended in disaster, but was saved. He says that he is grateful. Very, very grateful. With gratitude and his talents, he is living and working out his best life. Not so much "yes, he can", more "yes he did!" He has squeezed a lot into his 30 years and appears to live by the motto: Do it, Do it very well, Do it now.

Here are seven things that he is getting right:

1. Growing Balmain's overall Brand Value, Visability and Profits. The brand has also become a growing force in menswear, men's style and men's fashion, in just a few years.

2. He is a True Creative and a Consummate Designer. He was trained in couture and maintains that DNA. He enjoys the thrill of using the finest materials and craftsmanship in his designs.

3. He is a genius of Modern Communication Technology and Social Media. This means he gets closer to his #Balmaination, supporters and customers. He has created the blueprint for how heritage brands can successfully embrace new technology and engage with younger customers.

4. He creates Dynamic and Diverse Runway Shows season after season. Other brands ignore this and present a stream of dreary look-a-likes, indifferent to their global consumers. His approach is unforced. All of his models are the very best. This inclusion does not herald the end of high fashion.

5. He is Starting and Leading the Conversation about how to live with exclusivity and inclusiveness. He suggests that these are not mutually exclusive worlds closed to each other or to new entrants. His starting point is dreaming and being allowed to imagine that everything is possible.

6. He likes The Real World. This can be seen in his interviews which are a blend of typical creative-speak and his interest in pop culture, music, art, hip-hop, show business, design and technology. A modern renaissance man, blending all of these influences as a true citizen of the world.

7. He is A Role Model. Period.

Our Shoot "Bright Fall" is inspired by the power of individual expression. We join with those who see uniqueness as a gift and walk through life unafraid. Cookie-cutter should only be used for dough. We have flipped the script for Autumn and Fall and focus on the richness, brightness and diversity of autumn colour. Bright Fall is about lively colour, pattern, individual-style and fine tailoring. The looks have neat edges and some formality, but just below the surface, they allow you to kick back, lounge or rock out.   The shirts and the loafers reflect a carefree breezy rakish modern menswear and men's style. The looks are built around the colour and patterns of Pretty Green, Liam Gallagher's expanding brand, led by designer Pat Salter.  There are also inserts from Ted Baker, Zara, Topman, River Island, H&M and Calvin Klein. The watches are by Accurist of London. #BrightFall
