The annual Cannes Film Festival is a great place to see style and fashion on very proud and continuous display. The Festival is theatrical, filmic even, set in the dreamy Cote d'Azur, where audiences boo, hiss, cry, applaud rapturously and give rare standing ovations.

Unlike one-night award shows, held at twilight, where stars can quickly show their best side and then disappear into the night, this is a 24-hour nearly-two-week juggernaut. It takes no prisoners.  Bring the style, that the French and the world will approve of, or, stay at home (or on the yacht sipping Dom Perignon). The stars have to shine at all times, through day time photo-calls, premiers, parties, charity events, networking, business meetings and other press / PR / media activities.

Displays of menswear and men's fashion are present, but these are mostly of the black-tie variety. These noble efforts are swamped by the endless supply of dresses and gowns from simple set-pieces to the best of french haute couture.

The list of stylish ladies for 2015 includes Sienna Miller, Marion Coitillard, Lupita Nyong'o, Charlize Theron, Natalie Portman, Chanel Iman, the world's current top models and many others.

In 2014, two individuals captured our imagination: Blake Lively and Xavier Dolan. Each had the right outfit for the right time of day, worn in the right way and which packed enough wow factor to light up social media for weeks. This year, 2015, Xavier Dolan gave us another menswear masterclass in understated elegance and memorable statements, wearing Louis Vuitton. He was in good company with Nicholas Hoult and Jake Jyllenhaal. The Cannes 2015 Best Men.

Our "Chill" shoot features Sam and was shot in Wembley, London.

We focus on the gap between winter and spring, where even though the sun is shining and the spring buds are bursting out, there is still that Chill in the air that lingers on and on. That Chill often tries to restrict your style and swagger.

We decided to beat the Chill with an ice-cool response. We relaxed a modern version of the French Breton stripe with a hooded waterproof British tailored mid-length coat and fitted black jeans for the daytime. For the afternoon and early evening  we add dark brown oxford shoes and a US crafted black pea coat for versatility and stealth.  As evening draws in, we add the crisp white t-shirt, go monochrome and contrast with grey stripes in a trusty light wool scarf to meet the night. These looks are anchored in classic menswear style, but are edgy, more urban, yet still very urbane.

So, we say, hey Chill, we are much cooler that you!

Ekocycle is the sustainable collaboration between Black Eye Peas musician, producer and entrepreneur will.i.am and The Coca-Cola Company. The brand has brought together a number of labels, including MCM, Globe-Trotter, H Brothers and Ecoalf to produce sustainable, luxurious and stylish collections of clothes, goods and accessories. The brand says that it seeks to create aspirational and desirable lifestyle products made from post-consumer waste such as aluminium cans, plastic bottles and other consumer packaging. They say they form part of a single movement with a vision of zero waste and unlimited style.

Ekocycle is very much in its growth phrase. Its output is certainly head-turning with sparks of originality and a focus on distinctive design. Brands like Addidas, Terracotta and others are also getting involved.

The brand produces menswear, women's wear and accessories. The product-reach is broad, from formal evening / party wear, formal shoes, sports wear, bags, luggage, bicycles, 3-D printers, wallets and technology gadgets.

In the United States, various products have been available online and from various retail outlets, but in 2015, the brand opened is first major foreign outlet. It chose the UK and Harrods Department Store in Knightsbridge, London. And here, as it did over there, the story about cool, stylish and luxurious sustainability, continues.....
